Searching and reading receipts

How to use the evidence index and what every part of a receipt page means.

Searching

The evidence index loads a small search index bundled with the site. Nothing is sent to a search provider. You can search for:

  • words in titles and summaries (“repost”, “refund”, “gambling”);
  • source names and hosts (“Bitquery”, “protos.com”, “crypto.news”);
  • document details (“Document 129”, “figure 56”, “1:25-cv-00880”);
  • token identifiers, with or without the full mint (“CSoc”, “B1Y2fJW8”).

Several words are combined with AND: bitquery wallets finds receipts containing both.

Filters narrow by dossier, claim status, source type, token identity and event-date range. Sort switches between event date (when something happened) and publication date (when the earliest dated source reported it). The current basis is always shown above the list.

Every filter is stored in the address bar, so a filtered view can be shared as a link. Clear all filters resets everything.

If the index fails to load, the full list stays visible unfiltered, and a Retry button appears.

Reading a receipt page

Part What it tells you
Question The one thing this receipt answers.
Claim status What the material establishes editorially. See labels.
Source type Where the material came from. It is a separate label from the claim status.
Event date / first reported / last checked Three different dates, never merged.
The record A short, attributed summary. Serious claims name who makes them, in the same sentence.
Quotes Short excerpts from canonical quote records, with context and any authentication limit.
The screenshots Court figures as filed, or UNREPOST screenshots of captured posts, with capture and screenshot times and every edit listed. All are on the image archive.
What the sources support The specific things the cited material shows.
What remains unresolved Known unknowns, stated plainly.
Limits Why the receipt should not be read as more than it is.
Attributed observations Numbers from named observers, kept separate and never averaged.
Identifiers Pages, figures, case numbers, mints and addresses, with copy buttons.
Related judicial decision Shown wherever a complaint is cited, so an allegation is never read alone.
Responses Any attributable response or rebuttal located, or a dated note that none was found.
Revision history Every change, with dates.

Sharing and citing

Each receipt has a permanent address, /evidence/r-a01 for example. Copy link and Copy citation put that address or a formatted citation on your clipboard. Create source card draws a factual image in your browser. See evidence cards.
